VISITATION POLICY DURING COVID-19
Facility Outbreak

POLICY

The purpose of this policy is to allow residents to have visitation when the facility has 2 or more covid positive cases. Everyone visiting the resident must follow procedures outlined.


PROCEDURE

  1. Visitation hours will be from 9am-9pm

       Person visiting must:

  • Have their temperature checked at the door prior to entering the building.
  • Visitation questionnaire answered.
  • Review infection control education materials provided upon entry.
  • Visitor must wear facemask and be free from COVID/Flu like symptoms.
  • Must wash/sanitize hands.
  • Essential Caregivers must be allowed to visit up to 2 hours a day
  • Residents are allowed physical contact.
  • Management is responsible for insuring staff adhere to policy and procedures

   

   2. After visitation, the area will be disinfected by staff members.

   3. Any 3rd party personal providing care to residents, MUST wear a mask, screened at the door and MUST NOT have any         COVID/FLU like symptoms prior to visiting resident to provide Care.


VISITATION

The visitation policies and procedures required by this section must allow in-per visitation in

all the following circumstances, unless the resident, client, or patient objects:

  • End of life situations
  • A resident, client or patient who lives with a family before being admitted to the providers care is struggling with the change in environment and lack of in-person family support.
  • The resident, client, or patient is making one or more major medical decisions
  • A resident, client or patient is experiencing emotional distress or giving the loss of a friend or family member who recently died.
  • A resident, client or patient needs cueing or encouragement to eat or drink which was previously provided by a family member or caregiver.
  • A resident, client or patient who used to talk and interact with others is seldom speaking
